Sophia the Dog needs a home
Meet Sophia! She came into rescue with her sister Rose when there was an unplanned breeding with a family's female Mastiff and their brother's Standard Poodle, and they weren't able to find homes for all of the puppies. They certainly do have a very interesting look about them and their personalities are a blend of these two breeds. Sophia is already 80 pounds at 7 months old, so she will be a large dog when full grown. She has more a wirey coat that is seen in some poodle crosses and yes she does shed!
Sophia came to us with an eye injury that occurred when she was a puppy and unfortunately the eye had to be removed. While visiting the Eye Specialist, he did see a small cataract in her good eye. He said at this time it's not causing her any problems but it's possible it could progress when she is older and cause her to go blind. So she needs a family who understands this and would be either willing to provide her with cataract surgery should the vet decide it would help her, or be able to accommodate her needs as a blind dog.
Sophia loves to play with other dogs and so we want her to go with a family who has a playmate for her. She does have more energy than your average Mastiff and so this playtime is good exercise for her. She also loves kids so we would like her to have children in her forever home as well.
